Along the Mount Baker Highway, about mile marker 22 or so, lies the hamlet of Kendall, complete with a couple of small grocery stores with fuel, the Kendall Fire Station, the relatively new and beautifully designed Kendall Elementary School, a church, and the new Foothills Library. Kendall is not quite half the way on State Hwy 542 from Bellingham to Mt. Baker, but is a nice little stopping point for skiiers, hikers and tourists headin' up the mountain.

The two large subdivisions near Kendall are Paradise Lakes and Peaceful Valley. Within these subdivisions lie some of the least expensive homes and land in Whatcom County! Manufactured homes on their own lot can be had for as little as $30,000 while stick-framed homes start at well under a hundred grand! There are homes you can buy in Kendall that make the rest of Whatcom County seem way over-priced. I've sold plenty of nice homes in Kendall to plenty of happy buyers, who save a lot of money while accepting the pleasant1/2 hour drive to town!

There are also homes for sale on acreage in the Kendall area, as well as land for sale near Kendall. Once again, prices for this type of real estate for sale around Kendall are less than prices for realty for sale closer to Bellingham. There are river and creekfront properties available for sale around here, and large forested parcels available for sale around this part of the East County as well! Red Mountain, Black Mountain, and Sumas Mountain are close by.
