Bellingham Beauty School
Located at 4192 Meridian Street in Bellingham, the Bellingham Beauty School offers full and part-time programs for students of cosmetology and manicuring. Courses are available during the day or evening and include theory as well as "real world" experience.

Located on a 21-acre site on Lindbergh Avenue in the city's Birchwood neighborhood, the Bellingham Technical College (BTC) has been in operation since 1957. Originally named the Bellingham Vocational Institute, the school changed its name to BTC in September 1991. This popular college puts its educational focus on vocational training including accounting, nursing, auto repair, and industrial maintenance. BTC has nearly 2,000 full-time students each year, with approximately 10,000 enrolling in at least one course.

With its main campus on Kwina Road in Bellingham, the Northwest Indian College (NWIC) is a tribal college offering a variety of two-year programs, primarily to residents of local tribes. With its focus on vocational training and professional development programs, the college also offers associates degree programs in Native American studies, chemical dependency, and life sciences.

Bordered by the South Hill, Happy Valley and Sehome neighborhoods, the 195-acre Western Washington University (WWU) campus is considered one of the state's most popular four-year universities. With its focus on undergraduate liberal arts studies, WWU has an enrollment of approximately 13,000 each fall, with a third of its students living on campus. In addition to a variety of cultural events offered each year, the WWU Vikings offer students the opportunity to participate in football, basketball, and other sports. The university employs more than 1,500 workers, making it one of Whatcom County's largest employers.

Whatcom Community College (WCC) is located at the north end of Bellingham in the Guide Meridian neighborhood. This local, public college offers associates degrees in various disciplines, as well as a myriad of continuing education courses. With affordable day and evening classes available, the college is popular with part-time students as well as adults returning to school. The school serves over 7,000 students each quarter, with approximately half of those attending full-time. Courses of study include business management, early childhood education, paralegal studies, and graphic design.
