The season has gone from 0-60 in 10 seconds up at Mt. Baker - or in reality, from closed to open-with-a-60+inch-base in just 4 short days! It's been snow, snow and more snow up at the Mount Baker Ski Area. Early Saturday morning my dad and I packed up and made our way to the ski area. On our way up, i'm sure that my dad got tired of me pointing out all the properties Rob has sold along the Mt Baker Highway this past year and all the signs he has for available properties in the area. He got to hear all about up-and-coming listings and past sales all along the way whether he was interested or not. Once we made it up there my jaw dropped, the amount of snow they have already gotten is amazing. We had a great day snowboarding together and meeting all kinds of different people on chairlifts and in the lodges. I couldn't help but brag about how our client, Jim Maushak of True Log Homes, had a huge part in the renovation of the Raven's Hut Lodge which my dad knew as the cafe back in the day. Up at the top of chair 1 my dad snapped a picture of me while we hiked through some deep snow to one of his favorite spots back when he was my age:

Seemed pretty safe to me? As 3 o'clock came around we caught the last chair to the top and made our way to the car. We threw on some dry clothes and sat in the lodge for a while. My dad grabbed a beer from the Tap Room and I had some cocoa as we chatted about all the cool runs we had hit and he gave me a few pointers for next time. As we drove down the mountain I did my best to convince him that we need to look for a cabin up in Glacier to be closer to the mountain, i'm not sure if he is totally convinced yet but I know Rob has a few up his sleeve that my dad might like...

All that being said we had a fabulous day up at Baker and I am very sore this morning. I hope to see some of you up there soon!
